Permaculture Design – Carob House

Permaculture Design

In the past couple of years, we’ve been eagerly trying to educate ourselves on the principles of Permaculture and its design principles. A decline that we believe holds a holistic solution to way we interact with nature and provide for our needs. In other words, it is the art/science through which we design our habitats, gardens, and farms, to grow beyond exploitation into permanent abundance.

in 2021 I had the opportunity to partake in a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) online course with Geoff Lawton – one of the world’s most experienced permaculture gurus.  I then had the pleasure of meeting him in person this summer, and later had the opportunity to hire his brains to help me in redesigning Carob Farms to achieve our goals of surplus output and ecological sustainability. For a startup like ours, this wouldn’t have been possible without the kind donation of our angel donors: Garth and Suzan Smith, who happen to visit our farm and listen to our story last summer.

We had Geoff Lawton twice on our farm and spent full day hours discussing various components and exploring potentials.  He then successfully guided us into the design process that resulted in the following mainframe plan.
